#Poetry #NewRelease #MustRead - Almost Poetry by R.B. O'Brien

Title: Almost Poetry
Author: R.B. O'Brien
Genre: Poetry/Art (Love, Nature, General)
Release Date: June 29, 2021

From the author who brought you the highly received poetry collection, Ruin My Lipstick, comes something not quite like anything you’ve seen before. This artistically, intricately woven compilation brings you the poet’s musings, doodles, and sketches, and puts pages of her own personally inked journal into your own hands.

Intimate, vulnerable, and raw-- the r’s that look like scribbles or the i’s not fully dotted or the t’s not quite crossed-- these moments from the poet’s life will make you sigh, laugh out loud, shake your head in the affirmative, and look at love and nature and everything else you see and experience in the world around you through a new lens. It’s as much a visual feast for the eyes as it is for the thrum, flutter, and beat of the heart.

After all, writing is simply the stringing together of the best words in the best possible order. And sometimes, it’s almost poetry.

R.B. O’Brien has always been drawn to the taboo side of storytelling, even as a young adult, from hiding books from strict Catholic parents as a teen to getting lost in the erotic sections of bookstores for hours. Much of her work explores the darker, sensual nature of relationships, those riddled with the reality of insecurities and human folly, often exposing the vulnerability, emotional turmoil, and occasional pain that can come from losing oneself in the heat of passion.

She is best known for her three published erotic romances, Thorne, Edge of Torment, and Imogen, but is now forging a name for herself in the New Adult genre, publishing Play Only for Me in the spring of 2020, a stand-alone New Adult Romance novel, which explores the angst that comes with young love. Ruin My Lipstick was her first published poetry collection and her latest, Almost Poetry, is now available!

O'Brien holds a degree in English literature and teaches for a living in the Northeast, USA. She is the founding member of The Nu Romantics, first publishing the short story, “Beyond the Rain,” in their collection, Beyond the Last Page, her first paranormal romance. She is a poet, a professor, a writer, a dancer, a hopeful romantic, has a profound affection for Shakespeare, and beyond that, writes--every chance she gets.
